Before We Get Started:

Making money online basics:

There are plenty of legitimate sites that will help supplement your income online. The key is to remember that the legitimate ones start slow, require patience, and will probably require you to get into a habit of visiting daily.

The first thing to do, before you sign up for anything, is to create a specialized e-mail address. Some of these sites will send you important e-mails, and a lot of GPT (Get Paid To) websites will pay you to sign up for various newsletters, free services etc. and you won't want to fill your regular e-mail with junk. Personally, I recommend a complete throwaway for sites you expect to spam, and a secondary one for sites where you legitimately need e-mail. For example, Pollbuzzer sends quick surveys to your inbox which are worth a buck a piece, so you'll definitely want to check for that daily. Sites like FusionCash and Inbox Dollars also have daily cash e-mails that should be a part of your routine.

When you first start out, the urge is to go a bit crazy signing up to different sites that promise to earn you big money. Just remember -- don't sign up for services where you give too much personal info out. Another thing to remember is certain offer sites have a category where they give you money to use a free trial of a service where you have to give a credit/debit card. Don't be stupid with these -- even when the offer is legitimate, you can still get accidentally charged, or you could forget to cancel the service before the first paid month or whatever. If you are going to try this method, invest in one of those rechargeable Visa/PayPal gift cards to protect yourself. Enter that info into these websites, rather than your actual debit or credit card. If the site won't accept it, that's a big enough red flag for you to walk away.

Remember, if an offer seems too good to be true, it probably is. Even the most reputable sites occasionally get scammers, if they link to third party offers.

I will start out by listing my favorite sites and how I use them.
